Why the specific coil model matters

The same condenser and furnace paired with a different coil produces a different SEER2 rating and a different AHRI certificate number. Selecting a coil by tonnage alone is the most common matching error in the trade. Check the AHRI listing for your combination and order the coil model it names.

TXV or EXV

A thermostatic expansion valve regulates refrigerant flow mechanically and is standard on single and two-stage systems. An electronic expansion valve modulates flow electronically for tighter control across varying conditions, and is typically paired with variable speed equipment. The two are not interchangeable — the certified pairing specifies which.

A2L sensor included

Every coil listed includes the refrigerant sensor required for R-454B systems. Older coils without an A2L sensor cannot be used with current outdoor equipment.
